Grant Application Process

The Foundation's Grants and Program Committee and the Board of Trustees meet four times a year to make grant funding decisions. The quarterly deadline dates for receipt of grant requests, which must be submitted on the Foundation's grant application forms, are determined at the beginning of each fiscal year, which is from January 1st to December 31st.

Twelve copies of the completed application must be returned to the Foundation office by the deadline date. Youth-related grants will be considered by the Youth Advisory Committee, a grantmaking group of young people. For youth requests, thirty copies must be submitted by the deadline.

The Foundation's Board of Trustees will make final decisions on all grant recommendations made by the Grants and Program Committee and the Youth Advisory Committees.

Grantseekers are notified in writing within one week after a Board of Trustees' meeting if their requests have been approved or denied. A Grant Agreement must then be signed by the grantee before any funds are distributed.

Grantees will be asked to complete a grant evaluation on the success of their program. Trustees and/or staff may also conduct occasional on-site visits to evaluate the success of the grant.
