The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Hadley Baas Streng as the next President of the GHACF, effective October 29, 2018.
“I’m excited that the Foundation’s next chapter will be in Hadley’s very capable hands,” said Randy Hansen, GHACF Board of Trustees Chair. “There is no doubt she will lead our new strategy and outstanding team in service to impact our communities.”
Originally from Grand Haven, Streng has spent the past two decades in the greater Chicago area. She most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Development at Centegra Health System and their Foundation in Crystal Lake, IL, and has a strong background in strategic planning, community outreach and engagement, and nonprofit governance.

Streng was selected via a competitive process conducted by Grand Rapids-based VENTURE3Philanthropy and coordinated by a seven-member search committee made up of GHACF trustees and community members.
“Hadley has more than twenty years of experience in strategic operations and team leadership, including executive responsibility for operating Centegra’s foundation,” said Hansen. “It’s her strength in executing strategic plans and guiding organizations to the next level of excellence and impact that made her our ideal selection.”
Streng looks forward to returning to Grand Haven to raise her children in the same community where she and her husband grew up. As a GHHS student, Streng was part of the foundation’s original Youth Council that formed the GHACF Youth Advisory Council, which is now approaching its 30th anniversary. “I was very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to help develop what is now known as the GHACF Youth Advisory Council,” Streng said. “That experience is what ultimately led me to look for a career in nonprofits.”
During her ten years with Centegra, Streng served as Senior Planning Analyst, Strategic Planning Manager, Director of Business Development, and Vice President of Strategy and Development before being promoted to Senior Vice President. Prior to Centegra, she was the Manager of Strategic and Operational Consulting at Huron Consulting Group and Manager at PricewaterCoopers, LLC, both in Chicago. She has a Bachelor of Science from Miami University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia.
In 2016, Streng received the McHenry County Women of Distinction Award. She has also served with the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation and the Allocations Committee for the United Way of Greater McHenry County, and both graduated from and served on the board of Leadership Greater McHenry County, a program similar to the Chamber of Commerce Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg’s Leadership Connect.
“We have dedicated and generous donors, we are in a very solid financial position, and we have spent the past year envisioning our three- to five-year strategic plan and goals,” said Hansen. “The GHACF is well positioned, and we are confident that Streng will lead us to the next level of continued success.”
